Yesterday MTN’s data centre in Gallo Manor, Johannesburg experienced a power outage.
The data centre started experiencing problems with its power feeds just after 18:00 on 3 May. The backup generators did not kick in, causing the centre to go offline.
Once power was restored they couldn’t get their routers working which had a network impact and prevented VCS from processing transactions.
The system has been restored, however we are still experiencing network problems at MTN which are being attended to as a matter of urgency.
The outages and problems resulted in VCS not being able to communicate with you about the interruption in services.
